Lovely day!

Woohoo! had a lovely day making cards today, it's so nice not to have to go to work, got to go back tomorrow boo! Got over my scare on Boxing Day when little Daisy had a near miss with a car and I had to find the emergency vet, she is ok though thank you for emergency vets.... she has a sore hip and pelvis a few claws missing the rest are blunt or shredded, and a few cuts to her pads. A very lucky girl me thinks, although Lilly is very jealous and has stolen the basket I put in the front room for her to sit in, and keeps taking the blanket out the cat carrier which Daisy also sleeps in.
Anyway enough of my trauma and the cats! In the mood for making cards today, so many ideas but not enough time to make them all today. This card was from a challenge a short while back, I am sorry I can not remember who's it was. The Penny black bear was a image stamped for me by a friend. I used copics to colour the paper is Bo Bunny, various punches for the message and flower. One of my favorite stamps, I do love Magenta, this is from one of the cling sets. I chalked the background and used versamark. The flowers I coloured with Starlight pens watered down, but it does not show very well in this picture sorry!

Merry Christmas xx

Merry Christmas everybody,I hope you all have a lovely day.
A very big thankyou to all of you lovely people who visit my blog and the lovely comments that are left. It really brightens my day!

I finally plucked up the courage to decorate my tree last night, I was very wary due to Little Lilly and Daisy, I thought they might dismantle it. They did try while I was putting it up but since then they have left it alone. Hurrah....... Hope I have not spoken too soon.

Penny Black Challenge. Week 78 Christmas for the girls

Oh what a cheat I am, I was just about to add this card to my blog when I saw this really fits this weeks Penny Black challenge. I think blog land has been a bit quiet lately, I guess we are all busy making our Christmas cards. Well that's my excuse anyway!

Here I have used Penny black stamp -xmas head to toe (paper pieced), foreverfiends papers, punches from stamping up, nestabilities frame and handmade Flowers with punches. I embossed with the cuttlebug snowflake folder and finished with stickles.

This was a class I done the other week at the Glitter Pot with the very talented Kay Carley! You can never get enough copic colouring classes........ Here we used the cute little forever friend stamps. Not sure who the papers were but they sell them at the shop but we also stamped over them with snowflakes and swirls the Kay Carley way..
A fun class had by all. Oh well off now to make a few cards and watch children in need.

Its very quiet here today as the Kitties Lilly n Daisy were spayed n chipped yesterday, n feeling very sorry for themselves, Lilly hates me!

A class with Kim Fee at Crafts u Love the other week using Copics with Sarah Kay and Penny Black. Not one of my favorite stamps, but very pleased with the results and love the tri shutter card. Sorry not sure what paper it was as I am trying very hard not to buy paper at the moment, but Crafts u love have it.
One a little easier to finish off the morning.

O Wow! and on to the favorites, who does not love this little bear? A joy to colour and put together. I think I am finally getting the hang of these Copics thanks Kim!

Sorry for late posting

I do try to update my blog weekly, if only I could stay awake when I get in from work. All I seem to do is fall asleep, so no cards made and no blogging.
I made this card for my mum's birthday the other week. Im not sure but the picture came out of one of the paper pads and just copied it to a black and white image to chalk. Attached it to some bazill bling and the frame was craft creations again chalked then added a few pearls.

One of my favorite stamps from Penny black, stamped on some purple paper from stash and pearlescent paper and decoupaged mounted into individual frames and added some stickles. Matted and layered with bazill.

tri shutter card

I set my self a task as I saw this style of card on numerous blogs and really wanted to make one. It did take all afternoon and I had to wait to put it on me blog until it had arrived in the post and what with the postal strike I waited a tad longer just to make sure.
This design was inspired by the fabulous Debbie just take a look at her blog things do not get much better, she inspires me so much as her work is stunning.

I used a pack or craftwork cards paper, the birthday set from, I forget the name and can not get up cos Lilly kitten is on my lap.... I only wish I could bottle some of that purring noise as it is beautiful. I know its candyfloss marshmallow and friends , decoupaged at random with a woody look paper. Mounted on various nestabilities. With a computer generated message.

Hope you like it as I loved it and did not want to give it away, Oh well, Happy Birthday Wendy.

On this lovely sunny day!

A card for a giraffe fan, a colleague at work loves giraffes and every year I try to find something different. This year with the help of Chris and Brenda from Chickenshack for the loan of their stamps I have achieved this card. I coloured the Giraffe using distress inks and was very pleased with the effect.

Paper was K& Co
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Fiskars border punch

This was fun, have you tried making paper roses with a kitten who wants to help........ Lilly was sleeping but Daisy was out to get the roses at every attempt, need I say the air was blue!
A card we made with Jane Gill the other week with a few alterations to adapt it to a wedding card. I used craftwork cards paper pad in a pearlecent cream and a papermania sheet from a paper pad I bought a while back. I embossed the to in cuttlebug birds and swirls added a tag and a gold peel off.

Whiff of Joy v Sarah K

Just like buses nothing for ages then two.......not that I ever get on a bus!
Been playing with colours and Copics, I think I am beginning to learn the art of shading, thanks to all Kay Carley's tips last week.
I had seen this stamp a while back and decided I wanted it and I am really pleased with it, she really is a nice image to colour. The papers were from craft creations with a piece of embossed bazzil. Oh and I stamped and heat embossed a few snowflakes round the image the added a bit of chalk. It needs some purple stickles but would you believe it I do not have that colour, something else to add to the shopping list.
Ohhh Ouch, the colours really do not look very nice in this picture, much better in the flesh take my word for it. I need to finish this card off with some flowers and a sentiment but as the daylight is running out I thought I had better take a picture quick. Its only six o'clock and already getting dark, dont you just hate the dark evenings. Opps off I go again waffling, back to the card a sarah K stamp and I though I would try and use up some of the paper pads bought over time and put in the cupboard and forgot, I think it was from a K & Co range and a embossed birthday message.

Where did that week go!

Forever friends again, I do love this little bear and it is quite a quick card to make. Stamped and paper pieced.

A card a made a while ago and I had it hidden as I did not want to put it on the blog until I had delivered the card, then stupid me promptly forgot, but just found a piccie on my camera.
This idea was taken from a Julie Hickey class, but I adapted it using my own made flowers and papers. Sorry about the glare I used bling card and my camera does not like it......

Oh what fun we all had.....

A big thank you goes out to Jane Gill for the flower class at crafts u love. We made roses and poinsettias with paper and punches. Its was absolutely fantastic, I was so impressed and I know Junie Moon and the others were too. The poinsettia card I will keep for you to see at a later date but not too long as it is nearly Christmas. Which is also why this weekend I have started on my Christmas cards as like all others years I am not going to leave it till the last minute for a mad rush to catch the last posting day.

I also thought I would try again with my copics, my last attempt I was so ashamed of. This is not too bad, I think I may be getting the hang of blending a little better. I used one of the recent Sarah Kay stamps, Doodlebug paper and cuttlebug embossed strips chalked with a few flowers topped with craftwork cards candy. Thank you for looking, I really appreciate all the visitors and comments to my blog. xx

Micey Nice me thinks

What a lovely weekend the sun was shining and it seems like Summer again. Im off on a days holiday today! Hurrah you say but the blimen workmen are outside diggin up the road with numatic drills, an now its stinks of tar, I hate that smell.........

Had a few cards to make so I thought I would have a Great Impressions day yesterday.
A new home card which I always seem stuck for ideas on. I used watercolour pencils and a few scraps of paper mounted it on one of the lovely craftwork cards which I chalked in yellow.
A get well card for a friend who has just come out of hospital from a operation, its not really a case for tissues and soup but I just love this stamp. Again I just chalked and paper pieced.

Bears today I think.

Hello and what a lovely day it has been.
I think it my be a beary day today as I seem to have picked all the bears to do. I had a lovely day at the Chickenshack yesterday but it was very quiet, OK yes I was there! but I got lots done and they are all such a nice bunch and make everyone welcome. My mum came yesterday as she is also a crafter.

Forever friends bear with a very big prezzie. I decoupaged the present the bow and flowers. Coloured with Marvey le Plume pens, I even made the flower from a daisy punch done twice and inked the edges and made the centre which was embossed but does not show in the picture. Paper was a mixture of assorted Doodlebug designs.
Penny black bear is'nt he just soo cute, I do love him. I coloured him with pencils, paper was stamping up but I don't know the name and the stamp was from a woodware clear set.

Mummies monsters were sleeping again, and still are Shhhhhhhhh!. So I am off to make the most of the peace and quiet. I bet it wont be for long.

Popcorn times two

What a great day yesterday at Crafts u love 3rd Birthday.

I managed to shake off my pink curly tale (Swine Flu) I dont think I had it but everyone else did, it was just a bad cold.
I made a miraculous recovery just in time to go on a class or two with the talented Kim Piggott, I will show the cards later. I came away with some of the new Sarah Kay stamps and a few other bits.

Don't you just love the Popcorn the bear stamps and not forgetting little Souffle the duck. I decided to go back to reliable watercolour pencils. Fiskars punch border, Stamping up message with coordinating punches and Bo Bunny paper.

This was achieved by my lesson learnt with Kim, on distress inks and brushing them out with water to tone down shades. Watercolour paper, Basic grey paper, cardstock various shades of Tim Holtz distress inks used to get the brown for the bear as I could not decide which one to used I mixed them all together( frayed burlap, brushed corduroy and antique linen..... other colours used were mustard seed, spiced marmalade, shabby shutters. I aged the edge with the antique linen.

It is sooo hard but I dont know why. Anyway here is what I achieved:

Good old Nesties labels....... then sat stuck with ideas for the background. It just so happened I had one of my new Tapestry sets on the table next to me (Cherry Blossom) and I thought I wonder if that would work and it did! I was relieved to say my friend was very pleased - Phew!

Why do us crafters bother sometimes!

I made this little book for a colleague at work only to be left on the desk in the envelope all day not even shown to anyone...........

Anyway I enjoyed making it shame it was not gratefully received. I used Bazil Bling, Think it was Bo Bunny paper although I am not sure. Sizzix Happy Birthday Die.

The shape was made with the Spellbinders labels die cut in several sizes.

The words were a Hero Art message stamp, with a flower and some bling.
